AGI Approach to Implementation
Business and operational strategies and designs are built upon a constraint-based architecture that identifies and configures the key interdependencies of the organization to achieve stability and improvement.
Strategic improvements are implemented and sustained through a focused system improvement architecture based on TOCLSS (TOC, Lean & Six Sigma).
The deployment framework integrates these two architectures in a holistic model called SDAIS: Strategy-Design-Activate-Improve-Sustain.
STRATEGY
Create Leadership Alignment on the strategic, key interdependencies of the “business” to engineer and then manage.
Leadership is aligned on the principle that breakthrough “business” success comes from engineering and then managing the interdependencies, while mitigating the adverse effects of variability. Leadership identifies, at the strategic level ,how they want their “business” to operate and which key bottom results they want to improve.
DESIGN [Constraint Based (TOC) System Architecture]
Engineer the details of the interdependent business processes
Operational/Functional leaders and subject matter experts engineer the alignment of their business processes to achieve strategic bottom-line results. During the design process, they reconfigure logistics, policies, measurements, roles and responsibilities, and information systems within the context of proven TOC solutions and execution management tools.
ACTIVATE
Manage the new, aligned business processes
During the activation process, the newly defined logistics policies, measurements, roles and responsibilities, information systems and execution management tools are made operational . This enables the key interdependencies to be managed effectively resulting in stability and immediate improvement.
Operational leaders and subject matter experts with implementation responsibilities provide training, mentoring and communication required to gain alignment on the new operational design; and how to operate and manage the key interdependencies.
IMPROVE [Focused System Improvement Architecture (TOCLSS)]
Focus improvement to drive strategic business results
Focused improvement initiatives use the integration of TOC, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive results for the long term based on addressing the right improvements in the right order in light of the organizational interdependencies.
SUSTAIN [Focused System Improvement Architecture (TOCLSS)]
Institutionalize the processes and improvements to sustain the results
To sustain the operational design, Execution Management Tools provide the daily priorities to all parts of the system to ensure the interdependencies are managed in accordance with the design and that improvement initiatives are maintained and leveraged for ongoing success.
