Critical Thinking Tools Programs

The TOC Thinking Processes were one of the earlier developments of TOC at AGI. Based on the two logic constructs of science, these varied set of tools can be used collectively, strategically, or individually to gain breakthrough results.

“I can use these tools right now for the problems I am dealing with today. Very practical.”

“Extremely valuable. I see (in my working level) that the Jonah toolset will be more applicable than other process assessment/improvement initiatives. This toolset will immediately aid me with current issues.”

“This program is meeting all of my objectives for preparation in working at the strategic planning level. I have been seeking a deeper understanding of this for years.”

“Too enormous to express in words. The most intense and powerful training I have had in my career.”

NEW! Jonah Program® for Supply Chain Executives
5-Day Program
Schedule   -   Register Online

Program Overview
This 5-day intensive program provides the knowledge and know-how necessary for senior-leaders to direct a “top-down, bottom-up” Theory Of Constraints (TOC) based Supply Chain Transformation. The session will cover the Jonah Program® critical thinking skills and the TOC “System of Systems” framework necessary for the participants’ to lead their organizations to better understand and leverage the cross-functional and/or cross-organizational interdependencies into a more effective and efficient supply chain. The material will be presented through lecture, discussion of case studies, simulation-based exercises and direct application to the participant’s supply chain.

Benefits
Participants who successfully complete this program will:

  • Understand the TOC “System of Systems” framework and how to use that knowledge to configure and manage a Supply Chain from Point-Of-Sale (POS) to Supplier Delivery so that the links and linkages that make up the chain are integrated and aligned for “System Performance”
  • Understand the cause and effect relationships governing supply chain performance and how to effectively modify those relationships for significantly improved and sustainable performance
  • Understand to how to plan the supply chain transformation to a level of detail and completeness sufficient to provide a clear way ahead
  • Understand the cause and effect relationships governing both current and future performance of their own supply chain and what their transformation plan looks like
  • Understand how to utilize the cause and effect relationships governing both the current and future supply chain performance to more effectively communicate the transformation to others
  • Understand the leadership style that is most effective when leading a TOC “System of Systems” based supply chain transformation

Course Content
Material covered in this program will include (but is not limited to):

  • Use of the TOC Thinking Processes to modify and/or communicate supply chain Current, Future and Transformation states
  • The 5 Focusing Steps as a “System of Systems” framework for configuring and aligning supply chains
  • Translating the 5 Focusing Steps into a Drum-Buffer-Rope (DBR) scheduling process
  • Replenishment as a Pull-Process for planning and managing supply chains
  • Establishing an Integrated Planning and Execution Management Process that nullifies the effects of variability in supply and/or demand
  • Controlling V, A, T and I Flows
  • Make versus Outsource decisions
  • Configuring VMI to work
  • Policies, Measures and Information Exchange that significantly improve the effectiveness and efficiency of supply chains
