Two-Day Production Workshop

This workshop is devoted to learning Production The TOC Way as contained in the Self-Learning Kit and peeling away the first two layers of resistance.

Through extensive and interactive discussions and computer simulations, participants discover:

• The real factors that inhibit production in satisfying market demand;
• The common causes of these real factors (for the participants, layer one of resistance is removed - we agree on the problem we need to solve); and
• A simple, logical, generic solution (Drum-Buffer-Rope and Buffer Management) to production problems (for the participants, layer two of resistance is removed - we agree that the solution will yield the desired results).

Through subsequent discussion, the participants discover:

• How the TOC Thinking Processes can be used to customize the generic solution to their specific environment, while achieving full consensus (the participants will understand how the third layer of resistance is removed);
• How the TOC Thinking Processes can be used to devise an implementation plan that overcomes people's obstacles, while achieving full consensus (the participants will understand how the fourth layer of resistance is removed); and
• The need for an implementation leader ­ someone responsible for leading the implementation effort (the participants will understand how the fifth layer of resistance is removed).
