Constraint-Based Decision Making Workshop
Throughput versus Cost-Based Product Pricing, Workflow Management and Capacity Investment Decisions
The objective of the Constraint-Based Decision Making (CBDM) Workshop is to help decision-makers understand:
How Constraint-based product pricing decisions provide significantly more to the bottom-line than do Cost-based pricing decisions;
How Dependency and Variability Interactions can be effectively contained yielding faster, more reliable, on-time delivery of projects, products, or services at lower cost;
How Constraint-based analysis of capacity investments or improvements yields significantly better bottom line returns than Cost-based analysis does;
As long as bottom-line performance is not infinite, constraints exist – so we can learn to leverage them or remain limited by them.
In this 3-hour workshop, you will:
Learn how Throughput- (Constraint-) Based Product Pricing Decisions can further improve your bottom-line beyond existing Cost-Based Decisions
Explore the key elements of workflow complexity and uncertainty; namely task dependency, shared resources, task variability, and how the interaction between them impacts performance outcomes
Examine how repositioning aggregated task level safety time into appropriately positioned and sized Buffers provides for improved workflow prioritization that ensures customer due dates are meet with less intervention
Learn how Throughput- (Constraint-) Based Capacity / Improvement Decisions can further improve your bottom-line beyond existing Cost-Based Decisions
Understand the importance of making visible the cumulative effects of the interaction of dependency and variability at the task and resource level, and the resulting need for Protective Capacity
Discuss the way ahead to transition an organization from Cost-Based to Throughput- (Constraint-) Based Decision Making and Workflow Management.
